Nanshan Buddhism Cultural Park is a famous utopian ecological zone located at the southernmost part of China at the foot of Nanshan Mountain. Nanshan, which means ‘the mountain in the south’, is believed to be the auspicious mountain of longevity in Chinese mythology. A gigantic Buddha statue, built as recent as 2003, stretches 108 meters above ground and overlooking the sea. This large statue seems to guard the nearby temples and the many tropical botanic gardens.

Visit Nanwan Monkey Island! Located in the Nanwan Peninsula, on the opposite of Xincun Port, Nanwan Monkey Island is a habitat for macaque. It is the only tropical island nature reserve for macaques in China, which is under state protection since 1965. It is said that now there are more than 2,000 monkeys in this nature reserve. The island is topped by forests and hills. After, you go to Xincun Local Market, just 500 meters away from Nanwan Monkey Island.
